Fugitive wanted for murder arrested in Richmond

The man wanted for the fatal shooting of a York City, Pennsylvania man was arrested in Richmond.
The U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) arrested Jeffrey Reid Jr., 27, without incident in the 2400 block of Venable St. on Monday after being on the run since the July 19 shooting.
With him while he was on the run was his ex-girlfriend, 23-year-old Karina DeJesus, who had been reported missing. She was found unharmed.
Whether she left with him voluntarily or against her will remains unclear. She does not face any charges at this time, according to USMS.
Reid was charged by the York City Police Department in July with criminal homicide, possession of a firearm, robbery and other related offenses.
“It is critically important that the U.S. Marshals Service locate and arrest fugitives wanted for violent crimes, especially those who have no regard for human life and who attempt to hide. This capture is a testament of the Task Force’s commitment to make our communities safer and more secure,” said U.S. Marshal Martin Pane.
Reid has been charged by the York City Police Department with criminal homicide, possession of a firearm, robbery and other related offenses.Reid is accused of fatally shooting Dashaun Davis, 23, while Davis sat in his car just after 11 p.m. ment, Adams County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Marshals from the Eastern District of Virginia. on July 19. Davis was killed just around the corner from his family's home.
Detectives suspect Reid intended to rob the victim. He faces extradition to York City.
