NN holds its inaugural Restaurant Week

Hampton Roads residents prepare yourselves because the ravenous glutton inside all of you is about to have a conniption. From Jan. 19 through Feb. 2, food lovers will have the opportunity to indulge in a variety of fixed-price meals at some of the finest restaurants in Newport News during the first-ever Newport News Restaurant Week.

Sponsored by the Newport News Hospitality Association and by Waters & Bridgman Marketing Solutions, with help from the Newport News Tourism Development Office, the city’s inaugural Restaurant Week will feature options for both lunch and dinner. A two-course lunch will be served for $10, while dinner options include a three-course meal for either $20 or $30, plus tax and gratuity.

As restaurants sign up to participate in the first Newport News Restaurant Week, their menus and other information will be added to www.newportnewsrestaurantweek.com, so check back often for updates.

As of Jan. 10, Fin Seafood Restaurant and Schlesinger’s Chop House in Port Warwick, 99 Main Restaurant and Circa 1918 Kitchen & Bar in Hilton Village, Cove Tavern in City Center at Oyster Point, Smoke BBQ Restaurant & Bar, The Green House (inside the Magnuson Hotel), The Melting Pot, and Tuscany Ristorante are among the establishments offering a three-course dinner for $30.

The restaurants offering a $20 dinner include Cheeseburger in Paradise, Donatos, and Sunrise Pizzeria Family Restaurant. Additionally, Cove Tavern plans to offer a $20 dinner, although this particular menu has not yet been posted.

Fortunately, the inaugural Newport News Restaurant Week isn’t just for dinner. Grab some co-workers and a great bite to eat at the following participating restaurants serving a $10 two-course lunch: Showplace Café, all three locations of Rick’s Cheese Steak Shop, Fin Seafood and Schlesinger’s in Port Warwick, Smoke BBQ, Donatos, along with Cove Tavern and The Green House.

Harpoon Larry’s Fish House & Oyster Bar and Pearl French Bistro also plan to participate in the event, although which meals are being offered and their corresponding Restaurant Week menus are still pending.

This is your chance to visit those hot spots you’ve always wanted to try or return to those neighborhood favorites you’ve loved for years. No matter where you choose to dine, you’ll be a part of a community-wide celebration of the great Newport News restaurants and talented chefs who serve up fresh, delicious cuisine every day.
