Daviece Clement, the local woman who recently launched a year-long campaign featuring 54 dates to meet a ‘wonderful’ man she can potentially marry in a few years, this week declared her first date a success.

The 32-year-old hairstylist, who is highlighting her unique personal endeavor called, “54 Dates To A Mate” in an online blog, noted that, while in an exhausted state, her date with “Patrick”, a “friend of a friend’s boyfriend”, was “pure fun” with no jitters.

For Clement’s weekly date journey to find a husband to be successful, Clement has asked the Richmond community, and women in particular, to intoduce her to available men they know, via email or via the 54dates.com website. Each week, Clement’s real-life girlfriends and interns determine who will be her next date.

For Clement, the campaign is not just an undertaking to help her meet the man she could potentially spend her life with. It is also a campaign to show others, especially women, that it’s okay to be unconventional and to live life colorfully.
