Employee charged with threatening to blow up school

HAMPTON WTKR - A Hampton City Schools employee has been arrested after posting a bomb threat to Hampton High School on social media.
Hampton Police say a School Resource Officer was contacted around 6:30 p.m. Monday evening by a Hampton City Schools Administrator who notified them of the bomb threat.
Further investigation revealed that 41-year-old Tracy Tomon Smith posted the threat to bomb the school at 4:30 p.m.
At 10:21 p.m. Smith was arrested and charged with one count of threatening to bomb.
Her position within the schools is unknown at this time.
Police say they determined that there was no evidence that there was any physical threat to the school or students at the any time.
However, as a precautionary measure, there will be an increased police presence at the school throughout the day.
