— The Office of Human Affairs (OHA) is offering free Virginia Housing Development Authority (VHDA) First Time Homebuyer Classes the first or second Tuesday/Thursday of each month.

The class is designed to take the mystery out of the home buying process and help homebuyers prepare to make important decisions about buying a home. Completion of VHDA's Intro to Homeownership class is required by all borrowers in order to become eligible for all VHDA loan programs.

Sign up for VHDA's free homebuyer education class to learn about the entire home buying process including: Personal Finances, the Role of the Realtor and Lender, Credit Reports, Home Inspections, and Closing Agent.

The two-night class will be held on the 9th and 11th of July, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at the Clark Center located at 392 Maple Avenue, Newport News. A light meal is served.

For more information and to sign up for classes contact Dorothy Buchanan at (757) 643-4086. This is open to residents of Newport News, Hampton and adjacent communities.
