Official sounds of summer with RVA Grooves

RICHMOND RVA Grooves, “All Things Arts and Culture,” boasts that is bringing the movement live to the historic Hippodrome Theater in Jackson Ward for a second year. From this Friday, June 14, until Aug. 30, RVA Grooves will host its summer night concert series, featuring live performances by a number of popular artists and bands on stage. The line up includes:

July 19- Anthony David
July 26- Susan Greenbaum
Aug. 2- Sister Sparrow & the Dirty Birds
Aug. 16- Jon B
Aug. 24- Larry Carlton
Aug. 30- Secret Society
Riding the crest of Richmond’s creativity wave, the RVA Grooves movement introduces and highlights some of the region’s most talented innovators, whether through music, dance, fashion, visual arts or technology. The summer concert series unites arts enthusiasts throughout the Mid-Atlantic region by showcasing an eclectic mix of musical genres and various artistic styles on one stage. This year, the lineup encompasses some of the most talented names in music and features a variety of well-known and up-and-coming local and national artists.
RVA Grooves insiders note that it is not just about music, but an infusion of arts, green initiatives and partnerships with various organizations, including non-profits and small businesses. The Richmond Public Schools Education Foundation is just one of the many charitable organizations in which RVA Grooves will donate a portion of its proceeds.
